What's outrageous is the 15% brokers' fees! At least you don't owe it until after a fully executed lease is in your hands. In the rest of the country, the landlord pays it and it is only 1/2 to 1 month's rent...

The application fees are reasonable: the broker must pay those credit bureaus and does pay an employee to process the thing...
