I AM A TENANT IN QUEENS, N.Y. WHO RENTS A HOUSE. I HAVE SECTION 8 BUT THE LEASE ENDED IN DEC.1999. THE LANDLORD HAS NOT RENEWED THE LEASE BUT WAS STILL ACCEPTING MY SHARE OF THE RENT UNTIL MARCH OF 2000. HOWEVER, MY LANDLORD IS STILL ACCEPTING SECTION 8'S PORTION OF THE RENT. THE LANDLORD HAS DECIDED TO SELL THE HOUSE AND WILL BE CLOSING SOON. I HAVE NOTIFIED SECTION 8 AND I WAS TOLD IN DECEMBER ON '99,I WOULD BE PUT ON A WAITING LIST THAT WOULD TAKE APPROXIMATELY 6 MONTHS. I DO KEEP IN CONTACT WITH SECTION 8 TO SEE IF MY TRANSFER IS AVAILABLE BUT, NO LUCK AS OF YET. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO !! THE PEOPLE WHOM I THOUGHT WOULD BE ABLE TO HELP(SECTION 8), HAVE PUT ME IN A SITUATION THAT IS UNBELIVEABLE. WHAT IS MY NEXT MOVE ? I HAVE ALREADY BEEN TAKEN TO COURT FOR EVICTION BUT THE JUDGE DISMISSED THE ACTION. DO I HAVE TO MOVE ONCE THE HOUSE IS SOLD ? AND IF SO HOW LONG WOULD I HAVE TO FIND A PLACE ? ALSO, HOW CAN I MOVE WITHOUT MY TRANSFER AND WITHOUT THE NEW OWNER GOING THROUGH THE SAME PROCEDURE MY CURRENT LANDLORD WAS SUBJECT TO. PLEASE HELP !!!!
