You don't say where you live. Read your lease. It usually provides for delays like this. Can't you holdover, just like the current tenant in your new apartment is doing? This is a very common situations in houses, apartments, offices, and stores.

: New Landlord doesn't have the apartment ready (as the current tenant is building a house) and I have to vacate from my current place. I would like to know what are my rights. My lease should have started with the new owner 15 days ago. Is there any legal action that I can take? He has my two month security too.

: If I move out and put my stuff in storage can I get that reimbursed by the New Landlord?
