I live in a NYCHA building which I'm the remaining family memeber. The problem is that the management dosen't want to enter into a Lease agreement with me because they did a background check and it came back ineligible until June 19, 2002. I was on probation from June 19, 1991 to June 17, 1996, but I believe that the NYCHA is doing my background check using the date 1997 for the date I started probation. Can someone please tell my what the NYC Housing Authority admission policy is for applicants with background checks that come back ineligible? What is the time period they have to wait before they can get an lease or be eligible for NYC Housing.
