: Hi, I'm currently living in Ohio. I will be moving out of the country and need to break a lease. I'm leaving mid-June, but my lease isn't up until mid-August. Is there any way I can break my lease without being responsible for the remainder of the rent?

The landlord can't charge you for rent after June if they've found another tenant before that. In any event, since you are moving out of the country, there is not much the landlord can do. What are they going to do? Sue you in the International Court of Justice in the Hague? Swear in a Nuremburg tribunal?
