you'll need your cancelled check to prove this. you did mail it certified, RRR, right?

your best defense is that you 'paid all or part of the rent': it is right there on the answer form. here's the form:

yes, 'wrong name' is a defense: usually, it would be a wrong last name, not a little mispelling of the first name. tell the clerk, be sure he checks it off.
