I have lived in my two bedroom apartment at, 312 West 15th Street since 1991. It is a rent stabalized written lease that goes up 5% every year. The building is about at least 75 years old and has somewhere around thirty units in it. I have a room mate and wanted to include him on the lease. When I informed my landlord of this he told me the rent would be increased by 20% for adding a second name to the lease. A friend of mine told me this is not true. Can you tell me if it is?
