I rent a whole house in Fairview Park, Ohio, and have a 1 year lease which ends in November 2000. Since we moved in, the landlord has not done a single thing that we have requested. He is now selling the house, and is anxious to do this within a couple of weeks. Knowing the kind of person he is, I wouldn't be surprised if he sells the house and disappears with our security deposit (one month's rent, the last month's rent, and also an appliance deposit - $2700 total). Is there any way to place a lien against his house so that I get my money if he does sell it? Where would I do that?
