There's no need to post essentially the same message multiple times. If things
are as bad as you indicate, go to the police, file a complaint. Sure, many
police will ignore things, but go up the ladder. The "harassment laws" really
don't exist in any meaningful way. Read the material on the web site. But don't
expect anything out of DHCR. Physical threats and unlawful eviction are police
matters -- there's a whole page on unlawful eviction on the web site.
: please, can anyone refer me to laws re HARASSMENT (landlord harassing tenant)? It would be much appreciated. (threats like "if you come back here we'll break your legs", using violence-picking roomate up and throwing him out down the steps into the cold with no coat, entering the apartment on a daily basis with the key without any notice and screaming at us, turning off heat and electricity-all attempts to get us to move out, which we sort-of did: our stuff is still in there but we aren't because we're scared!) PLEASE HELP US-any suggestions are welcome, esp. on HARASSMENT LAWS or invasion of privacy, any related laws. Thanks.
