Hi,
I wrote yesterday about my landlord harasing me about getting rid
of my washing machine after I filed a complaint with the heat complaint
bureau. I have lived in this apartment for 17 years and the landlord
has been in this apartment many times and never hasseled me about the
washing machine before (it is in plain sight) until i filed a complaint
about no heat. I live in Astoria, N.Y. in a 12 tenant building with a
written lease. The lease has a no washing machine policy, however, as
I stated this was never enforced. I received a 10 day notice to cure
stating that the washing machine has just been brought to his attention.
Yeah, right - after 17 years. Can anyone offer any advice? I feel I am
being harassed because I exercised my legal right to complain about no
heat. Got to go call the heat complaint bureau again- no heat and no hot
water today.
Thanks for any help,
P.Mullin
