Nope they are right you are obligated to pay the full 7
months....unless you move out before the end of February and they
rerent it for March 1st occupancy is about the only way I see of not
being Liable for March's rent.

What you ask asking to do is make the Landlord Lose One months
rent....... now if you moved out Feb 15th that would give the LL 2
weeks to re rent it and you would have a very strong case if they tried
to persue you for March's rent.......Like you cant get rent from 2
people for the same apartment for the same month!

The only other option how big is your security? One month sign it
over to the Landlord for March's rent... in exchange for full payment
and no lawsuits.

: I live in a large apt. complex in Charlotte, NC. We signed a 7 month lease
: agreement that says "the term of this lease will be automatically renewed
: on a month-to-month basis unless"... "(1) either party provides the other
: party with a written notice of termination at least 60 days prior to the end
: of the initial rental term OR at least 30 days prior to the end of any month-
: to month term". I gave them 60 days notice and want to leave before all 7
: months are up. They say I owe them for all 7 months and can't just give 60 days
: notice at any time in the first 7 months. I say I can by what is written in
: lease I signed. Am I right?
