Reality check: 01/01/00 was a HOLIDAY; 01/02/00 was a SUNDAY; all banks were closed. Sure, you could put money in and take money out thru the ATM but both days were dead as far as banking was concerned. All deposits made those two days are recorded as if made on 01/03/00. So all you tenants with landlords flying off the deep end because they had not received the rent on/by/before 01/01/00: your landlords are irrational unstable dangerous lunatics. Move before his sociopathic problems get worse and you end up on the wrong end of a physical assault.
